In conjunction with May Fest 2009, Protem Persatuan Petanque Bahagian Miri, Sarawak in collaboration with Majlis Sukan Negeri Sarawak (Miri Branch), Rukun Tetangga Desa Pujut and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Permaisuri organised the Pertandingan Pesta Miri Triple Petanque 2009. The tournament; which was held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Permaisuri, Piasau, Miri; saw a total of 64 teams participating from all over Sarawak, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Brunei Darussalam.
The first prize went to the unbeatable Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Santubong, Kuching while the second place clinched by team Gerenek from Sibu. At the third and fifth places are SKO 7 and SKO 6 respectively, both from PCSB Sarawak Operations (PCSB SKO) while MLNG E secured the fourth place. The prizes were presented by Timbalan Datuk Bandar Miri, En. Mohd Chee Kadir.
